Hi there! I’m Bibiana Sofía Torres.
I'm a director and arts administrator from Puerto Rico and Chicago. I started acting in commercials, radio, and theatre at five, then pivoted to stage management in high school. I felt more at home on that side of the rehearsal room, but quickly realized I had too many opinions. Clearly, directing was the right fit for me.
As an eldest daughter and spreadsheet nerd, I am, naturally, also an administrator/project manager/producer. Process matters just as much as product.
I'm interested in work that plays with form, explorations of Puerto Rican/Latine history, magical realism onstage, and stories that build empathy. (We're all stuck on this planet together; we might as well try and get to know each other.)
